Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations show the liquid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the public for details.
A senior representative commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
