Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.
